CORRECTION: The City of Tulsa DOES NOT accept cartons in their recycling program.

They accept plastic-lined cartons if the lining is removed before recycling, but they cannot accept cartons with plastic lining or any wax-coated cartons, like milk or juice cartons.

Sorry for the confusion.

Good morning,

The Carton Council of North America<http://www.cartonopportunities.org/>, a group of carton manufacturers united to deliver long term collaborative solutions in order to divert valuable cartons from the landfill, recently sent out two press releases that we think would be of interest to you in your education outreach:

* Remember Cartons This America Recycles Day - This November 15 on America Recycles Day, the Carton Council wants to remind recycling coordinators about including cartons in their resident education outreach. Adding cartons as an accepted material brings convenience to residents and helps move communities closer to achieving their Zero Waste and sustainability goals.

* New Survey Reveals Americans Overwhelmingly Believe Cartons Are Recyclable - A recent survey, conducted by Research Data + Insights on behalf of the Carton Council, revealed that 77 percent of Americans believe that the food and beverage cartons they see on store shelves are recyclable.

I have attached both press releases, as well as a jpg of the infographic embedded in the ARD release. Please contact me if you have any questions, or need more information.

Thank you,
Sarah Kettenburg
