If you plan to apply to this program, please heed one warning: it will only work if Waste Management is willing to pick up the contents of the bins from your location. This may be a problem in some rural areas or other places that Waste Management does not serve. To find out if WM serves your area, contact them directly:

Subject: [OKRA] KAB offers FREE recycling bins through the Dream Machine initiative
Thousands of Dream Machine recycling bins and kiosks
are available, at no charge
Through a partnership with PepsiCo and Waste Management, Keep America Beautiful invites community-based organizations to submit a proposal to become part of the Dream Machine recycling initiative. Your participation in the Dream Machine program will help to increase the nation’s beverage container recycling rate, while at the same time directly supporting U.S. veterans with disabilities.
Selected organizations will receive, at no cost, potentially hundreds of recycling bins from a list of styles and options designed for use at indoor and/or outdoor public spaces such as parks, schools, arenas or special event venues. Eligibility is open to non-profit organizations, government agencies, schools and other community-based groups.
Interested organizations can submit a brief proposal detailing how they would use the bins. Proposals are due by July 1, 2011. Full details of the program are available online at http://www.kab.org/dreammachine.
