The attached report, "More Jobs Less Pollution," outlines the environmental and economic benefits of increased recycling. Produced by the Tellus Institute and sponsored by the BlueGreen Alliance, a coalition of labor and environmental organizations, the report estimates that with a 75% recycling rate there would be an additional 1.5 million jobs created in the US.
This report was brought to our attention by the National Recycling Coalition's Policy Committee Chair, Fran McPoland. It was used at a US Senate briefing, which led to the passage of the "Resolution in Support of Recycling" on November 16.
