JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

Job Title:  Director of Business Recycling Center      FLSA STATUS:
Exempt

REPORTS TO: VP of Donated Goods                             Date:
February 2010

 

JOB SUMMARY: To manage and provide direction of all business recycling
aspects of the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

*	Direct and manage effectively all recycling operations
maximizing value of all recyclable material and reducing waste.
*	Manage all waste operations including negotiating and managing
all waste contracts. 
*	Manage all energy operations including reducing the energy
consumption, negotiating and managing all energy contracts, seek and
analyze energy alternatives.  
*	Manage personnel, fiscal and logistical resources based on
mission requirements. 
*	Prepare P&L budget and adhere to department budget guidelines.
*	Oversee Business Development coordination with GICO Promotions
Coordinator to develop a comprehensive advertising program for
Environmental Business and computer donations.
*	Direct recycling programs to achieve assigned goals and
objectives.
*	Develop material handing methods which preserve donation value
and alow for low cost processing.
*	Ensure compliance with all government policies, ODEQ/ORC and GII
standards, and safety and security regulations.
*	Complete required sales, production, shipping, donation and
governmental reports.
*	Assist with the development of grant funded programs and
proposals; maintain relationships with grant partners; complete required
grant reports.
*	Direct all salvage activities and ensure achievement of assigned
goals and objectives.
*	Work closely with V.P. - E.S.S. and P.M. - JCC to coordinate the
work of the Curriculum Developer / Lead Trainer to ensure development
and delivery of all recycle /reclamation technician training components
including classroom, context and to maximize training and development
opportunities for clients.
*	Work with Human Resources and Training departments to optimize
the training and development opportunities of Goodwill staff.
*	Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the fulfillment
of the Agency's triple bottom line.
*	Facilitate and conduct employee evaluations.
*	Ensure cleaning and other products where possible are green and
sustainable.
*	Create and maintain business recycling center policies and
procedures to uphold organizational requirements and 3rd party
requirements such as LEED.
*	Comply with all Goodwill policies and safety procedures.  
*	Assists V.P. - Donated Goods in planning and developing new
business opportunities in consultation with partners and other
organizations.  
*	Perform other duties as assigned.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

*         Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

*	Master's degree preferred or Bachelor's degree with 5 years
experience in related field.  
*	Must be able to perform the essential functions of the Director
of Retail job description with or without accommodation.
*	Must pass MVR, must have a valid Oklahoma driver license and
current insurance.
*	Must pass drug and background screening.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENT:

*	Good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions;
talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
*	Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
*	Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

*                     Work is primarily performed in a warehouse
environment.

*                     Some occasional travel may be required.
