Norman Recycling Advocates Celebrate Curbside Victory! (Page 1)
Citizens Organized to Recycle our Environment (C.O.R.E.) celebrated a
71% victory on the May 8, 2007 ballot for curbside recycling in Norman.
Norman is the only city in Oklahoma where voters must approve any hike
in utility rates and this proposal will require a cost of $3.00 a month.
The approximately two hundred C.O.R.E. volunteers worked hard on their
campaigning for several months prior to the election, leafleting their
neighborhoods, putting up yard signs, calling registered voters, and
much more.

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Oklahoma
Recycling Association (OKRA), Metropolitan Environmental Trust (The
M.e.t.) and Keep Oklahoma Beautiful (KOB) request your help in promoting
increased recycling in Oklahoma. Every year, communities,
organizations, schools and businesses hold America Recycles Day (ARD)
events to celebrate recycling and to keep it in the public eye. Your
