Hello Fellow Recycling Enthusiasts!

This spring, the OU Lean Institute created a new short course that we call “Lean Paperless Office” which looks specifically at problems and costs that are added to administrative processes because of paper. By becoming leaner in terms
of information flow efficiency, people are able to transition away from paper-intensive processes and reduce their material footprints. As we designed this class, we immediately discovered that data retention and handling regulations varied too much from
industry to industry to set up a broadly-sweeping public class, so we developed the class around OU’s internal requirements and have been offering it only internally to OU staff.

This class has been immensely popular on campus, with sessions filling up almost as quickly as they are offered. I’d like to see if anyone else out there would be interested in working with us to adapt the content of this class to the
regulations of their organization (I’m thinking particularly of large institutions where we could do a series of classes).

requirements on the OU Norman campus, at OU Health Sciences Center, and OU Tulsa. This course is a half-day introduction to Lean efficiency principles as they apply to information flow in offices, with practical recommendations for reducing paper, improving
flow, and increasing efficiency as they apply specifically to OU's regulatory environment. Classes are open to all OU faculty and staff.
