(</span>May 3, 2013) — </i>As packaging recovery options grow, many communities and packaging producers have questions about the ins and outs of recovering more types of recyclables and compostables. The Foodservice Packaging Institute’s Paper Recovery Alliance and Plastics Recovery Group are in their second year of a coordinated project that is designed to break down barriers to recovering more cups, containers, boxes and bags used at restaurants and other eating establishments. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'>In an effort to connect recyclers, composters, MRF managers, and community recycling officials with the project, FPI is launching a series of webinars on foodservice packaging recovery. The first hour-long session, which will take place Friday, May 17, from 1–2 p.m. Eastern Time, will outline FPI’s understanding of the key thresholds to increased foodservice packaging recovery, including the material’s behavior at a MRF or composting facility, volume and end markets. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNoSpacing style='text-align:justify'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNoSpacing style='text-align:justify'>“We are using a data-driven approach, but it means nothing without the input and support from our recovery partners.
