put it to good use.  The *Oklahoma Compost and Sustainability Association*
is Oklahoma's expert on composting.  We highly recommend that you check out

The 8th Annual Oklahoma Compost Conference is set for Thursday, October 6,
2022 at Will Rogers Gardens in Oklahoma City featuring keynote speaker
Brenda Platt from the Institute for Local Self Reliance. The theme for this
year is Regener8, and we welcome your registration and attendance. New for

Keynote Speaker: Brenda PlattInstitute for Local Self Reliance

Our Keynote Speaker for the 2022 conference is Brenda Platt with the
Institute for Local Self Reliance (ILSR)

Brenda directs ILSR’s Composting for Community project, which is advancing
locally based composting in order to create jobs, enhance soils, sequester
carbon, reduce waste, and build more resilient and healthy communities. She
has worked 33 years fighting trash burners and promoting waste reduction,
reuse, recycling and composting, particularly recycling-based jobs.

Brenda’s Keynote address is titled "Composting for Community, Business and
Ecological Health: A Review of What, Why & How”. Brenda will cover the
importance of local and decentralized composting to community economic
development and environmental health and suggest a strategy for
implementation (via a mix of investment, policies, education, and
collaboration).
