[OKRA] US EPA - Food waste is a problem

The US EPA is collecting data on how businesses prevent food waste and how
they educate their employees about the importance of not wasting food.
Will you help us by submitting information about your business?  We also
want to help.  Let us know what you need.

Deadline for submitting data for activities undertaken in 2019 is January
27, 2021.

Deadline for submitting an optional annual award form is February 24, 2021.

Deadline for reporting data for activities undertaken in 2020, and setting
2021 annual goals, is March 31, 2021.





*Why Food Waste?:*

The number one cause of deforestation, biodiversity loss, water pollution
in our rivers, and domestic water resource depletion is food production.
Food production is also a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions.
Food waste alone accounts for 25% of all our fresh water use and enough
land to feed the world’s hungry.
