Oregon DEQ has an exceptional opportunity for three candidates interested in serving as Natural Resource Specialist 4s in our Materials Management Program. The candidates will serve as senior technical experts in support of the Materials Management Section and Materials Management in Oregon: 2050 Vision and Framework for Action<http://www.oregon.gov/deq/LQ/Documents/SWdocs/MaterialsManagementinOregon.pdf>. Each will focus on one of these specialty areas:
* Leading and supporting voluntary initiatives by businesses to change production practices, materials and products to support sustainable materials management.
* Preventing the wasting of food in all stages of its life cycle, and broader sustainable consumption initiatives.
* Increasing and improving the recovery (recycling) of materials, and safely managing household hazardous waste.
The successful candidates will lead the development of program strategies, goals, policy directions and action plans in their specialty areas. They will design and lead projects to implement those plans and lead and support other materials management projects. They will design and conduct research, evaluate and recommend policies and rule changes (where appropriate), hire and direct consultants and administer contracts, conduct extensive engagement with stakeholders and work collaboratively with diverse public and private partners. Experience in materials management is desirable but not required.
Salary: $54,852.00 - $80,196.00 annually plus excellent benefits.
