FREE WEBINAR ON FSP RECYCLING: DECEMBER 3 AT 1:30 PM ET

FPI Hosts Webinar Spotlighting Foodservice Packaging Recycling in City of Boston

Falls Church, Virginia (November 26, 2013)

The Foodservice Packaging Institute (FPI) will be hosting its final recovery webinar for 2013 next Tuesday, December 3rd at 1:30pm Eastern Time. The webinar will bring together industry representatives to discuss various aspects of foodservice packaging recycling in the City of Boston, including food residue in residential collection, a MRF perspective on foodservice packaging and how foodservice packaging affects end markets. This work is essential as FPI's Paper Recovery Alliance (PRA) and Plastics Recovery Group (PRG) continue their work to break down and find opportunities to better understand the perceived and real barriers that impact foodservice packaging recovery.

Speakers during the one-hour webinar will include representatives from:

  *   DSM Environmental Services, Inc., which recently conducted a food residue study for FPI’s PRA and PRG;
  * Casella, the MRF that processes curbside recyclables in Boston; and
  * Rand-Whitney, which buys materials from Casella’s Boston MRF.

This will be an unscripted, honest discussion about opportunities and obstacles based on real world experience, sure to be of benefit to our supply chain partners, packaging and recovery organizations, plus communities and MRFs as they consider adding foodservice packaging to their recycling streams.
