[OKRA] Free Lean and Green Sustainability Training

Good Morning Recycling Advocates,

The University of Oklahoma Lean Institute is offering a free training program called Lean and Green that may be of interest to many people on this list.  Lean and Green uses Lean process improvement techniques developed in industry as tools for sustainability.  Lean works by analyzing business processes or systems and looking for waste, with the intention of using the minimum necessary resources (time, labor, energy, materials, etc...) to complete the operation.  These techniques make excellent tools for developing sustainable business approaches that also increase a business's profitability.

Lean and Green is a three month program, with three full days in the classroom at monthly intervals.  Over the course of this time, participants learn about Lean as they apply it to a real world problem in their organization.  This class is funded through a grant from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and is available at no cost to participants. We have several sessions of this class scheduled and set to start across the state, which anyone is welcome to join.  Even better though, the Lean Institute is happy to come on location to teach this class anywhere that there is sufficient interest across the state.   If you can help us gather roughly 20 people at your location who want to learn and apply these techniques, we will come to you and teach this class at no cost.

We've had great success with this program to date, and I would also be happy to come out and speak about this program, using some of the projects that have already been completed as examples.
