[OKRA] Solid Waste Management Symposium March 8-10

Please consider registering for the 2011 Oklahoma SWANA Spring Symposium, March 8-10, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Catoosa, OK.

The three-day event, hosted by the Solid Waste Association of North America, Oklahoma Indian Nations Chapter, assists decision makers in improving and maintaining efficient waste management operations.

The primary audience is solid waste professionals, facility managers, community leaders and others who deal with integrated waste management issues.  A registration fee of $150 covers the symposium sessions, bus tour, exhibits, three lunches, refreshment breaks, and one reception.

There will be two days of sessions on illegal dumping; tire, shingle and paint recycling; stormwater control; drug hazards in trash; greenhouse gases; CNG technology; using landfill gas to create energy; and more.

The full-day bus tour will include a visit to the LaFarge Cement Kiln, the American Environmental Landfill, and Tulsa Recycling & Transfer (TRT). During the past 9 months, TRT has undergone a multi-million dollar transformation to accept comingled waste for sorting and separation in its new materials recovery facility.
