On Saturday, September 25, the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration will coordinate a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation's medicine cabinets.
Collection activities will take place from 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. at sites established throughout the country. To learn more about the program and find a collection site near you, visit www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/takeback<http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/takeback> (new collection sites are being added daily).
Although the purpose of this effort is to curtail the potential for illegal prescription drug use and risk to public health and safety, there are also environmental benefits to keeping these substances out of the waste stream.
Please spread the word about this nationwide collection event for unused or expired prescription drugs.
