November 15th is America Recycles Day in Oklahoma, and to celebrate,
we're asking you to take an Oklahoma recycling pledge. A pledge to come
together and recycle more, because it's easier to make a difference now
more than ever.

 

Recycling is one of the easiest ways you can help stop global warming.
For example, one ton of recycled paper saves enough energy to power a
three-bedroom house for an entire year. And it all starts with recycling
your household paper and magazines once a week. 

 

DEQ, OKRA, KOB and The M.e.t. are partnering to encourage Oklahoma
citizens to make a pledge to buy recycled content products, recycle more
at home, work or school and/or volunteer to help with local recycling
projects. 

 

By filling out a pledge card and returning it to DEQ postmarked by
November 20, participants are automatically entered into drawings for
great state prizes. There will be separate drawings for adults and youth
under 18 for such great prizes as Black & Decker rechargeable electric
lawnmower, I-pods with docking stations, Terra Cotta Crock one gallon
water filter, two Garden Gourmet compost bins, recycled plastic hammock,
phaser solid ink printer, five cases of 100% recycled paper, a home
eco-kit, cash and more.
